Philippi-Hagenbuch, Inc. started with an idea for a simple product - a tailgate for off-highway haul trucks. After retiring from a large multi-national off-highway truck manufacturer that wasn't interested in this idea and thus signed off on the rights, L.B. Philippi partnered with his son-in-law LeRoy Hagenbuch to design, engineer, sell and fabricate the world's first commercially available tailgate, which became known as our Autogate Tailgate. The rest is history. To date, PHIL has designed and built tailgates for just about every make and model of off-highway haul truck available. With over 12,000 having been installed, PHIL has become the global leader in off-highway haul truck customization.
